A question about chickens?

Question: Hi. Does anyone know what the use of having a rooster around is for? Especially when the hen does not need a rooster in order to mate and lay eggs? Please give me more information on the matter! =)

Answer: Actually the hen does need a rooster to mate- but she can lay unfertilized eggs without him. Only fertilized eggs laid after mating with the rooster can hatch into chicks. A rooster in the chicken coop can also make the hens feel more secure, and stimulate them to lay eggs more regularly.
